Senior Underwriter – Primary Construction Lines – Global P&C Insurance Carrier (Atlanta, GA)

About the Opportunity:

James Search Group is working with a leading global property & casualty (P&C) insurance carrier to recruit a Senior Underwriter specializing in Primary Construction Lines . This is an on-site position based in Atlanta from either their Buckhead or Alpharetta offices , offering the chance to underwrite complex construction accounts, collaborate with top-tier brokers, and contribute directly to a profitable, growing portfolio.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $120,000 – $160,000 (commensurate with experience), plus annual bonus potential and a full suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401(k) with match.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and price new and renewal Primary Construction business, including general liability and related coverages.
• Evaluate risk quality through detailed exposure analysis and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
• Manage and expand a profitable book of construction business while maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with brokers and agents to drive submission flow and market presence.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and risk engineering teams to craft customized insurance solutions.
• Represent the company at industry and client events, promoting its construction expertise and capabilities.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in primary construction lines or commercial casualty, with strong technical knowledge of construction-related risks.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining broker relationships and driving profitable growth.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, or related field preferred.
