🚀 Senior Engineer (Backend) - Define the Future of AI-Driven Research 💡

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join a groundbreaking, Series A-funded AI research platform that is currently defining a new category in the market. This company is experiencing explosive growth, having doubled its revenue in the last four months and is on track to more than double again by the end of the year. They are moving fast and need technical leaders who thrive in an ambiguous, high-impact environment.

Key Role Details

• Job Title: Senior Engineer, Backend
• Location: Downtown San Francisco (In-Office 4-5 days a week)
• Compensation: $160,000 - $220,000 Salary
• Equity: Generous
• Hiring Goal: 3 Backend Engineers

Your Impact & Responsibilities

This role offers exceptional ownership and requires you to operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will be expected to essentially act as your own Product Manager (PM), driving projects from concept to completion and shipping features constantly.

• Core Engineering: Utilize your expertise in Python and Django to build and scale the core research platform. This is a product engineering opportunity.
• LLM/AI Innovation: Pushing the boundaries of what is possible by working on Research & Development (R&D) and building net new functionality using Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Product Focus: Directly contribute to the platform's core offering: an AI moderator that conducts qualitative interviews for user research teams at major enterprise companies.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

The client is looking for experienced engineers who are comfortable operating without a prescriptive process.

Experience: 3+ years of professional experience, as well as extensive knowledge of Python/Django and SQL databases (Postgres preferred).

Experience deploying and managing services on AWS and familiarity with WebRTC, real- time data streaming, or AI/ML infrastructure is highly beneficial.

Background Preference: Candidates with previous experience at a startup or smaller company (Series D and under) are strongly preferred.
