Job Description

Technical Director of ERP (Epicor Kinetic) – Onsite, Jonesboro, AR

Overview

Our client is a leading Made-in-America manufacturer in Jonesboro, Arkansas, embarking on a critical ERP modernization initiative. We are seeking a seasoned Technical Director of ERP (Epicor Kinetic) to drive this transformation. In this strategic, hands-on role, you will architect and implement the Epicor Kinetic ERP platform for our manufacturing environment, overseeing integrations, Azure cloud readiness, data migration, and post-launch performance. As a true player-coach, you will mentor and develop a team of ERP professionals while bridging the gap between technical and business teams to ensure the ERP solution meets functional needs and drives business value. This is a full-time onsite position (5 days/week) in Jonesboro; relocation is required for candidates not already local.

Responsibilities

  • ERP Architecture & Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of the Epicor Kinetic ERP system tailored to manufacturing/ETO processes.
  • Systems Integration: Plan and execute integrations between Epicor and other enterprise systems (finance, CRM, shop floor/SCADA systems, etc.) to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Data Migration: Manage the end-to-end data migration strategy, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, and cutover from legacy systems to Epicor Kinetic.
  • Cloud Readiness (Azure): Drive Azure cloud readiness by deploying or migrating ERP infrastructure to Azure, ensuring the environment is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance.
  • Post-Launch Performance: Monitor and optimize ERP system performance post-go-live through proactive tuning, issue resolution, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Player-Coach Leadership: Act as a hands-on ‘player-coach’ – write code/configurations and troubleshoot technical issues as needed while mentoring and guiding less technical team members in best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders and functional teams (manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, finance) to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure high user adoption.
  • Governance & Best Practices: Establish and enforce ERP governance, documentation standards, and best practices. Lead or support ERP upgrades, patches, and enhancement projects in line with strategic goals.
  • Technical Roadmap: Contribute to the long-term IT roadmap by evaluating new technologies (e.g., AI/ML, IoT) that can enhance ERP capabilities and overall manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Epicor Kinetic Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience implementing and managing Epicor Kinetic ERP (or similar tier-1 ERP systems) in a manufacturing or engineer-to-order (ETO) environment.
  • Leadership Experience: 10+ years in IT or ERP roles with at least 5 years in leadership/managerial positions overseeing ERP systems or technical teams.
  • Manufacturing/ETO Background: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (particularly discrete or ETO) and the unique ERP requirements of production, engineering, and supply chain workflows.
  • Technical Skills: Proven expertise in ERP integrations, database/data migration (SQL/ETL), system architecture, and cloud platforms (especially Azure). Skilled at troubleshooting and optimizing large-scale ERP solutions.
  • Player-Coach Mindset: Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work (development, configuration, problem-solving) with mentoring, coaching, and leading technical staff.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of managing complex technical projects from inception through go-live and beyond.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and align ERP capabilities with company objectives.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree or Epicor certifications are a plus.
  • Relocation: Willingness to relocate to and work onsite in Jonesboro, AR, full-time. (Relocation assistance is provided.)

Additional Info

  • Location & Schedule: Onsite at our Jonesboro, Arkansas headquarters, Monday–Friday. (Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.)
  • Work Authorization: This role does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must already hold permanent U.S. work authorization (Green Card or current TN visa status).
  • Strategic Impact: Join a proud Made-in-America manufacturer at the forefront of digital transformation. You will play a pivotal role in modernizing our ERP platform, improving operational efficiency, and enabling future growth.
  • Culture & Benefits: Our client values innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning. A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package will be offered to the right candidate.
  • Equal Opportunity: Our client is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a high-visibility ERP modernization project in a mission-critical role. If you meet the above qualifications and are ready to drive meaningful change, we invite you to apply.
