Trident Consulting is seeking a " PLC Automation Engineer " for one of our clients. A global leader in business and technology services.

Role: PLC Automation Engineer

Location: Stafford, TX (Onsite)

Type: Contract-W2

Pay rate: $45- $53/hr on W2

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8 AM to 5 PM

Duration: 12 months

Automation & Programming Engineer

• New role focused on robotics, PLC programming, and staff education.
• Minimum 3 years experience preferred.
• Local candidates preferred; industry/domain is flexible.

Core Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy manufacturing equipment to current automation standards.
• Build control boxes and control panels and integrate PLCs with pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Program PLCs to electronically control upgraded equipment.
• Support multiple projects (3–4 at a time).

Technical Requirements (Must-Have)

• PLC configuration and programming
• Ladder logic and structured text
• Electrical drawings and schematics

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Universal Robots (UR) experience
• LabVIEW (trainable if not experienced)
• Python and SQL (good to have, not mandatory)

Work Split

• 20% mechanical design / CAD
• 20% maintenance support & troubleshooting
• Remaining time on electrical schematics and PLC programming
• Part of an existing automation group.
• Works under a senior automation engineer with a junior engineer also on the team.

Domain : Any domain is fine, Locals preferred
