Job Overview

The Data Scientist designs, develops, and implements advanced data science models for priority business use cases across the enterprise, including online experience, marketing, merchandising, supply chain, finance, and store operations. The Data Scientist applies cutting-edge data science techniques to large datasets, driving actionable insights and developing intelligent, scalable AI solutions.

What You Will Do

• Execute advanced analytics using scalable, reusable code and models that address business challenges.
• Collaborate closely with Senior and Lead Data Scientists to generate and test hypotheses aligned with priority use cases.
• Adhere to analytics standards, ensuring methodologies (e.g., ML, AI, descriptive analytics) are tailored to specific use case requirements.
• Define batch or real-time streaming data needs, assess data quality, and extract/manipulate data within a "Big Data" environment.
• Identify internal and external data needs, establish quality metrics, and evaluate suitability for use.
• Support the development of predictive models to uncover opportunities, drive value, and enhance efficiencies for business units.
• Create impactful visualizations to communicate insights derived from data analysis.
• Collaborate with Data and Solution Architecture teams to implement data pipelines and tools, ensuring efficient analytics execution.
• Assist Senior and Lead Data Scientists in building enterprise-wide data assets that accelerate new use cases and support machine learning model training.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Skills You Will Need

• Advanced Data Science Expertise : Proficiency in designing and implementing complex algorithms, statistical methods, and machine learning models across various platforms, including Google Cloud Platform. Familiarity with techniques such as regression, segmentation, clustering, predictive modeling, time-series analysis, and machine learning.
• Big Data Manipulation : Ability to work within a "Big Data" environment, including defining data needs, evaluating data quality, and extracting/manipulating batch or real-time streaming data.
• Programming and Analytics : Strong coding skills with a focus on creating scalable, reusable code and models to address business challenges. Expertise in various programming languages and platforms is essential for handling advanced analytics.
• Collaboration and Communication : Effective collaboration with Senior and Lead Data Scientists, as well as Data and Solution Architecture teams, to align analytics with business needs and ensure smooth execution of projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills to present complex data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Data Visualization : Proficiency in generating impactful visualizations that clearly communicate insights and findings derived from large datasets.
• Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving : Creative and analytical mindset with the ability to identify data issues, develop actionable insights, and take strategic actions to remediate problems.
• Interpersonal Skills : Strong interpersonal skills for working across functions and at different levels within the organization, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Business Acumen : Ability to translate data science outcomes into business value, supporting initiatives in areas such as marketing, merchandising, supply chain, and finance to drive efficiencies and improve operations.
• Continuous Learning : Commitment to enhancing personal skills and capabilities through ongoing professional development.

Who You Are

• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
