Job Description

The Senior Mechanical Estimator is primarily responsible for the preparation of complete Mechanical (and related) estimates for hard bids, negotiated bids, conceptual budgets, pre-construction proposals and design-build proposals. Responsibilities will include attending pre-bid meetings, preparing scopes of work, calculating complete Mechanical takeoffs, soliciting bids, maintaining subcontractor relationships and following awarded projects through to turnover to Operations.

Required Skills:

• Ability to takeoff HVAC & Plumbing systems using Quote soft, Quote Express software.
• Cultivate relationships with vendors for material quotes.
• Organize and manage estimating database.
• Create Scope of work & contracts for negotiated projects.
• Understanding job specifications and local codes.
• Field experiences in HVAC & Plumbing installation a plus.
• Self-Motivated and team player attitude.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.10+years of estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience with at least 5+ in estimating mechanical systems.
• Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, Expert knowledge in mechanical systems and the costs associated with these systems.
• Ability to estimate all types of projects / contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort.
• Excellent Organizational Skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
• Must be goal oriented and a self-starter
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented work environment.
• Strong communication and analytical skills
