Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in public works projects and demonstrate expertise in cost estimation for various construction activities. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate budgeting and bidding processes that align with project specifications and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities - Review and analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for public works projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and scopes.
- Conduct market research and analysis to determine pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for potential projects.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing.
- Monitor project costs and financial performance during the construction phase.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and team members.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for public works projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Certifications such as Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or similar are a plus.
