Job Description

Masis Staffing Solutions is assisting our client in searching for a Purchasing Buyer in East Longmeadow MA for a temporary (at least 3 months) position, 100% onsite. You will be responsible for purchasing a wide variety of material, equipment and services.

Salary: $30 to $35 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30 (some hours may vary)

Position Type: Temporary, 3 months with possible extension

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support operations by purchasing materials, equipment and services in a cost effective manner in compliance with protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, evaluate and maintain a reliable, competitive and economical supply chain.
• Generate and distribute bid packages.
• Perform independent analysis on capabilities of prospective new suppliers .
• Locate and develop a consolidated supply base to meet sourcing requirements.
• Work collaboratively with Planning, Quality and Engineering to maximize customer service, ensure schedule adherence, assure quality, minimize inventory and manage efficient launch of new items.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• 5 years buying experience, preferably with a manufacturing facility.
• Extensive knowledge of MRP systems/SAP preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or 5 years relevant work experience.
• Strong sourcing and negotiation skills.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Strong analytical, decision making, problem solving skills.
• Awareness of Lean technologies.
