Location: El Segundo, CA

FLSA: Exempt

Location: Hybrid (onsite on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

Reports to: VP of Business Operations

Job Overview: We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager/Scrum Master to drive critical cross-functional development projects and establish a formal project management function at Podium. This role requires a balance of technical fluency and interpersonal skills; the ideal candidate will be energized by working closely with multiple internal departments and business stakeholders, and external Product & Development partners, to achieve project timelines and outcomes. Projects range from internal no-code development projects to external client-facing technical projects, offering a great opportunity to build broad technical and product expertise in the digital publishing space.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end project management for projects defined and prioritized within Podium’s quarterly planning cadence and aligned to annual initiatives.
  • Define and manage project scopes, timelines, deliverables, and resource planning in alignment with business priorities.
  • Maintenance of ticket status and project boards, consistently drive projects to completion on time and on budget
  • Facilitate regular stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives and stakeholder reviews using Agile or hybrid methodologies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (External BI Analysts, Developers, Product | Internal Cross-Functional Teams) to ensure smooth project execution and alignment, in support of implementation timelines, documentation, and solution delivery.
  • Monitor, assess, and communicate project risks, dependencies, and progress to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key liaison between data/tech teams and business users to ensure mutual understanding and successful delivery.
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for data and product teams.
  • Support the development and enhancement of internal work-tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, Lucid) in collaboration with development teams.

Required Competencies:

  • 6-8 years of experience in project management, program management, business operations, or technical program coordination, preferably in digital media, publishing, or analytics-led industries
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent technical and business process optimization projects
  • Experienced Atlassian JIRA & Confluence Administrator
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, and ability to communicate easily with multiple departments across multiple levels within and outside the organization
  • Support documentation efforts including written communication and project roadmap visibility
  • Familiarity with technical concepts in databases, data pipelines, or reporting architecture (e.g., SQL, APIs)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; curious by nature, able to interrogate projects and work and make insightful connections, suggestions or hypotheses
  • Highly detail-oriented and well-organized; able to independently work in a fast-paced environment and can easily adapt to change

Qualifications

  • SAFe, PMP, CAPM, or PMI-ACP DBA Certification or other reputable certification required
  • Degree in Business Administration or Project Management preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from our office in El Segundo.
  • Flexibility in working hours required to accommodate team timezones – early morning and/or late evenings PT are typical in support of team standups and during product launches.
  • Primarily office-based work setting. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move around the office as needed.
