The Pharmacist in Charge oversees the operations of all departments within the company including pharmacy, nursing, administrative/clerical, and sales in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures. The Pharmacist in Charge communicates with the corporate office as needed on issues of finance, performance improvement, sales, or clinical implementation of therapies. This individual provides clinical pharmacy services to the company and consumers through the appropriate evaluation of physician orders, compounding of sterile preparations, and safe and efficient dispensing of medications, supplies, and administration equipment. The pharmacist in charge may supervise the activities of pharmacy support personnel, as well as quality control and performance improvement procedures. The Pharmacist In Charge may be required to assume the duties of any of the various jobs within the pharmacy during an emergency and according to professional licensure/scope.
