Our employees enjoy flexibility, strong organizational support, and a shared commitment to excellence. We foster a culture where team members feel valued and where the hospitals and communities we serve receive the highest standards of care and safety.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist / ASRO will support the supervision and operation of the hospital’s radiation safety program under the direction of one or more board-certified medical physicists. This role ensures safe and compliant use of radioactive materials and radiation-producing equipment across diverse service lines—including Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, Oncology, and procedural areas.

This role works closely with hospital leadership, clinical directors, technologists, and physicists to maintain regulatory readiness, strengthen safety culture, and ensure a unified approach to radiation protection throughout the institution.

What You’ll Do

  • Support supervising physicists in managing and executing the hospital’s radiation safety program in accordance with NRC/Agreement State regulations, Joint Commission requirements, and hospital policies.
  • Assist with licensing, permit amendments, audits, surveys, event reporting, and inspection preparation.
  • Perform routine radiation safety surveys throughout the hospital, including hot labs, nuclear medicine areas, interventional suites, radiology spaces, and radioactive waste storage locations.
  • Conduct contamination surveys, exposure assessments, wipe tests, and equipment radiation output checks under physicist direction.
  • Support the handling of radioactive materials, including receipt, inventory tracking, waste management, and secure storage.
  • Participate in the hospital’s Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) by preparing materials, tracking program metrics, and supporting follow-up actions.
  • Assist with personnel dosimetry program oversight, including badge distribution, wear compliance, exposure investigations, and ALARA reviews.
  • Contribute to policy development and review, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and hospital operations.
  • Provide ongoing radiation safety education and training for physicians, technologists, nurses, and ancillary staff.
  • Support radiation incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Assist in quality assurance activities for radiation-producing devices (e.g., fluoroscopy units, CT scanners) as delegated by supervising physicists.
  • Participate in radionuclide therapy safety protocols, including patient release criteria, contamination control, and post-therapy area monitoring.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong understanding of health physics, radiation protection principles, and hospital regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in hospital radiation safety, nuclear medicine, medical imaging, or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary hospital teams, including physicians, technologists, nursing staff, and administrators.
  • Strong technical documentation skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when interacting with clinicians and presenting safety information.
  • Ability to adapt to complex hospital workflows and prioritize across multiple service lines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in health physics, medical physics, nuclear medicine, or a related discipline preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation.
  • PTO plan with paid company holidays.
  • Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription).
  • 401(k) Plan with company match after 1 year of employment.
  • Group Life & Voluntary Life Insurance.
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
  • Health Spending Account (HSA).

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location, as well as candidate experience, education level and expertise. If you have questions on compensation, please ask your recruiter. Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
