The U.S. Sun is looking for an experienced News Editor to help shape our daily news coverage and lead a growing team of talented reporters and editors. Since launching in 2020, we've built a loyal audience with bold, engaging journalism — and we’re just getting started.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and is passionate about breaking stories, driving original reporting, and mentoring a team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the news team day-to-day: assigning stories, managing breaking news, ensuring strong editorial standards, and taking the lead on the biggest story of the day.
• Running morning editorial meeting and shaping the daily news agenda.
• Working closely with SEO, audience, video, and design teams to maximize reach.
• Developing reporters and editors through coaching and feedback.
• Prioritizing original content and exclusives, not aggregation.
• Monitoring performance across platforms and adapting strategy as needed.
• Managing forward planning for the news section, and planning stories and content around future events.
• Helping build out specialist sections e.g. motors and travel
• Occasionally managing weekend or evening news operations if there is a larger event, e.g, the Oscars, the Super Bowl.

What you’ll bring:

• At least 5 years of newsroom experience, including 2+ years in an editing role.
• Strong editorial judgment and a sharp eye for a great story.
• Experience managing reporters and producing standout breaking news and exclusives.
• A good understanding of SEO, audience analytics, and how to drive traffic.
• A calm, collaborative approach to working under pressure.
• A clear sense of what makes The US Sun's voice stand out — and how to keep it sharp.

What we offer:

• Salary: $95,000–$110,000 depending on experience
• 26 days PTO
