Position Summary

The Merchandise Operations Manager will be responsible across both brands for ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient execution of merchandising processes across both brands. This includes inventory management, pricing accuracy, reporting, and cross-functional coordination between brands, stores, warehouse and marketing. You will ensure that products are in the right place at the right time – both physically and online – while driving data informed decisions to optimize sales and profitability. The role requires strong attention to detail, operational discipline, and a hands-on approach to problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

Merchandise Operations & Process Execution

• Manage merchandise flow from purchase order through warehouse allocation to store delivery.
• Oversee item setup, purchase order accuracy, and pricing integrity across systems.
• Ensure product launches, seasonal resets, and promotions are executed on time and error-free.
• Standardize and document operating procedures for merchandise operations across both brands.
• Coordinate new product photo shoots with marketing team, ensuring new items are shipped on time for a timely launch.

Inventory & Allocation

• Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment strategies to prevent out-of-stocks or overstocks.
• Manage allocation of goods between stores and distribution centers to support sales goals.
• Track product lifecycle from introduction to markdown, ensuring timely disposition of slow sellers.

Data & Reporting

• Maintain and deliver weekly and monthly reporting on discontinued product inventory, sales, and stock position as well as damage product in warehouse.
• Provide actionable insights on sell-through, turns, and inventory health.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Act as the main contact between merchandising, demand planning, marketing, and store operations.
• Work closely with logistics to resolve shipping, receiving, and vendor compliance issues.
• Partner with marketing to confirm product availability for advertised promotions.

Team & Leadership

• Direct and support merchandise operations staff (allocators, analysts, coordinators).
• Train and develop team members to improve accuracy, efficiency, and system use.
• Drive accountability by monitoring performance and ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field.
• 5–7 years of retail merchandise operations, allocation, or planning experience; furniture or home goods a plus.
• Proven track record in process management, inventory control, and cross-functional execution.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills; experience with ERP and merchandise planning systems required.
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy, timelines, and follow-through.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused leader.
