Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Material Handlers are responsible for moving product from work area to work area based on assigned priority and need.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

• Sort and label parts as required for proper identification
• Ensure parts are moved efficiently between work areas
• Safeguard that parts are properly protected while in transit
• Scan parts/kits as required from one work area to the next (confirming proper traceability)
• Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and Company Safety Procedures
• Perform location maintenance to include neat and orderly appearance of parts, material and containers following company 5S and Lean guidelines
• Place appropriate location symbols or barcodes on storage equipment and or parts

NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, error free, with limited supervision
• Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Able to function throughout the total facility (i.e. up and down stairs, between hangars and warehouses) using standard material handling equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
• Able to bend or stoop below waist level and reach above shoulder level to access inventory items with or without reasonable accommodation
• Able to move parts consistently throughout a normal shift
• Must pass a motor vehicle report, preemployment testing and background check for airport property badging.
