Position Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Greater Dallas, TX Area
Overview:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading a diverse team of technical professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facility equipment and infrastructure. This role emphasizes strategic planning, team development, and cross-functional collaboration to support long-term operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and uphold a proactive safety culture centered on care, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise a multidisciplinary maintenance team, including salaried supervisors, planners, engineers, and skilled trades personnel across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support departments to foster a cooperative and solutions-oriented work environment.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, aligning resources with operational priorities.
- Encourage analytical thinking and problem-solving to drive ongoing improvements in maintenance practices and plant performance.
- Lead investigations into equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor equipment performance and system reliability to reduce downtime and identify areas for optimization.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend asset life and improve reliability.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, manage spare parts inventory, and maintain equipment history.
- Analyze maintenance metrics such as cost trends, asset utilization, and work order completion rates to inform decision-making.
- Ensure team members are properly trained, equipped, and supported to perform their roles safely and effectively.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to build team capability.
- Lead long-term planning initiatives for infrastructure upgrades and capital improvements.
- Manage internal labor and external contractors, including oversight of service agreements and project execution.
- Maintain a professional work culture focused on respect, engagement, and operational excellence.
- Oversee mobile equipment operations and ensure proper maintenance and utilization.
- Coordinate with inventory and finance teams to maintain optimal spare parts availability and cost-effective inventory levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance leadership.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance management.
- Experience in continuous manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across technical, supervisory, and operational levels.
- Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and driving performance.
- Proficiency in maintenance systems, business software, and data analysis tools.
- Ability to implement systems for tracking maintenance costs and forecasting future needs.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
