Job Title: Mainframe Tester

Job Description8+ years of software testing experience, including deep hands-on work in both manual and automated frameworks such as Playwright and Cucumber.
Proven track record in building end-to-end test strategies for complex, front-to-back workflows.
Hands-on experience with legacy mainframe systems: understanding how the mainframe processes data, designing and validating data-migration flows from mainframe to distributed tiers, and testing those migrations in the live mainframe environment.
Strong influencer: comfortable partnering with Product, DevOps, Engineering, and Operations teams to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Skilled at balancing PODs individual priorities while maintaining a coherent, end-to-end test strategy across both distributed and mainframe platforms.
Experience defining test roadmaps, metrics/KPIs (e.g., defect leakage, test coverage, automation percentage) and continuously improving them.
Skilled at risk-based testing: prioritizing what to test when timelines are tight and leveraging data to drive coverage decisions.
Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, DevOps) to build automation into nightly/regression suites.
Expert in Playwright for UI automation and Insomnia for API testing.
Familiarity with modern test management platforms such as TestRail, qTest, and defect-tracking tools like JIRA.
Exceptional verbal and written communicator able to translate technical test results into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proactive in surfacing risks early and driving cross-team alignment on scope, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
