Job Description

Preco  is now hiring for a Laser Applications Tech I (2nd shift) at the Somerset, WI location.  

It is the responsibility of the Laser Applications Technician I to set up and run laser systems to process customer parts/product, assuring maximum safety and efficiency.  They also inspect parts to verify conformance to customer specifications.  2nd Shift is 4pm - 2:30am Monday through Thursday.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate custom designed/standard laser machinery to process customer parts/product in accordance to customer specifications, using previously set parameters.
• Perform more detailed quality inspections of finished product, using various measuring tools.
• Start up and shut down systems.
• Perform necessary PM’s.
• Perform beam delivery.
• Calibrate galvos.
• Troubleshoot system issues.
• Train operators.
• Use Excel and Word frequently.
• On-call technical support per the on-call policy.
• Complete all necessary paperwork whether it be hard copy or electronic.
• Follow and assist in creating work instructions.
• Package parts and route to shipping.
• Perform work cell clean up as required.
•   Various other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• High school education or GED required. 2-year technical degree preferred.
• 1–3 year industrial experience.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office, CAD a plus.
• Strong math aptitude.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Able to safely drive a forklift.
• Excellent eyesight and hearing.
