Job Description

Responsibilities :

• Performs routine testing and maintenance tasks following standard procedures, operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, records all data, evaluates results, and is responsible for housekeeping of work areas. Expected to develop skills in non-standard testing, or area specific expertise and ownership.
• May be assigned work in areas of technical service, analysis of new products, raw materials, processes, and test method development.
• Prepares, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment, glassware, solutions, and instruments used in the laboratory.
• Interacts with all levels of production personnel and management.
• Motivated, self-starting, able and willing to manage their own shift following training.
• Willing to work off-shift as needed for training or coverage.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and interpret results to make data-driven recommendations.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all experimental work and findings.
• Stable hand motion is required for the mixing and transfer of chemicals in beakers and flasks
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications :

• 1-2 years as Assistant Technician, or Lab familiarity
• One year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in a technical discipline; or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
