About the Role:

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial Estimator to join our growing team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in construction estimating within a dynamic general contracting environment. You will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information for estimates.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Assist in preparing bid packages and proposals.
• Track and manage bid deadlines and submissions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, or similar).
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Internship or co-op experience in construction or estimating.
• Knowledge of local building codes and construction practices.
