Overview:

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) plays a critical role in ensuring Take2’s compliance with federal security regulations while safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining operational integrity. This position is responsible for overseeing facility security processes, managing clearance protocols, and serving as the primary liaison with government agencies, including the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The FSO will develop and implement security awareness programs, enforce document control measures, and ensure adherence to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and other regulatory requirements, mitigating risks in a dynamic government contractor environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains effective security protocols to ensure compliance with federal, corporate, and internal requirements, including the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Department of Defense (DoD) directives, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversees document control procedures, ensuring strict adherence to guidelines for handling, storing, and transmitting classified and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) across the organization.
  • Directs facility security operations, including physical access controls, secure workspace management, and compliance with government-mandated security standards.
  • Designs and delivers ongoing security education and awareness programs for cleared personnel to foster a culture of vigilance and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates personnel security processes, including clearance initiations, periodic reinvestigations, and separations, using the Electronic Application for Security Clearance (eAPP) within NBIS (National Background Investigation Services) and the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Leads to regular self-inspections and internal audits to proactively identify and resolve compliance gaps, ensuring alignment with NISP and other governing policies.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other federal entities, managing inspections, incident reporting, and official communications.
  • Coordinates with external clearance processing agencies to ensure timely and accurate handling of personnel investigations and adjudications.
  • Maintains an active FSO certification through continuous training and monitors changes in security regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Oversee the response to security incidents, including investigation, reporting, and implementation of corrective actions to mitigate future risks.
  • Manage visitor control procedures, ensuring all external personnel accessing cleared facilities comply with established security requirements.
  • Collaborates with HR, IT, and senior leadership to embed security compliance into daily business operations and contractual obligations.
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate records within security databases such as the National Industrial Security System (NISS) to support compliance and audit preparedness.
  • Advises employees and contractors on proper classification markings, handling procedures, and adherence to company and government security policies.
  • Completed NATO and CNDWI briefings, supporting compliance with international security and threat awareness standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5– 8 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or in a similar industrial security role.
  • Active Top Secret U.S Security Clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications:

  • Current and up-to-date Facility Security Officer (FSO) training and certification, as required by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, managing, and implementing a comprehensive security program, with in-depth knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and associated government security regulations.
  • Proficient in utilizing U.S. Government security systems, including the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP), and National Industrial Security System (NISS), to manage clearances and compliance.
  • Thorough understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) and federal agency requirements for controlled unclassified information (CUI) and sensitive information security protocols.
  • Extensive experience working in a government contractor environment, with a strong grasp of security practices in classified and sensitive operations.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to independently drive security initiatives and adapt to the evolving needs of a growing organization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and sound judgment, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams or working independently in high-pressure settings.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with complex regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and classified information with the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate security policies and procedures to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable leveraging technology to support security program administration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions efficiently.
  • Familiarity with conducting security briefings, debriefings, and training sessions for cleared personnel, ensuring compliance with security awareness requirements.
