Position Summary :
The Foreman is responsible for leading a crew and overseeing the installation, construction, and maintenance of electrical systems on various job sites. This includes coordinating daily work activities, ensuring safety standards are followed, and making sure projects are completed on time and within scope. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the electrical trade, including field experience, and the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Skills
Education and/or Experience
The Foreman should hold a minimum of High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training preferred. Have a minimum of (5) years’ experience as a journeyman electrician preferred.
Language/Interpersonal/Leadership Skills
The Foreman must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. This individual should be capable of preparing detailed reports, estimates, and instructions, as well as delivering clear verbal communication to clients, representatives, and internal staff. The role requires frequent in-person interactions with clients, general contractor representatives, and other team members, necessitating the ability to express complex information effectively and concisely.
Mathematical Skills
Proficiency in basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are essential for the Foreman. This individual must be capable of calculating percentages, costs, gross margins, and gross profits related to material, labor, and project estimates. A high degree of attention to detail is required, as the role demands accuracy in financial estimations while adhering to deadlines. The individual should also possess a strong drive to ensure that all calculations and documentation meet the highest standards of quality.
Computer Skills
The Foreman needs strong computer skills in several areas, including project management software, CAD/BIM software, and programming/simulation tools. They should also be proficient in software related to electrical design, documentation, and reporting. Additionally, understanding computer networking concepts and basic troubleshooting skills is beneficial.
Physical Demands
The role of Foreman typically involves office-based work, but the individual may also be required to visit construction sites. The position requires frequent walking, standing, reaching, and crouching, and the individual must be able to use their hands with dexterity to operate various tools. In some instances, the role may require the physical stamina to perform activities such as climbing or navigating uneven or rough terrain at construction sites.
Work Environment:
While most of the work is performed in an office environment, the Foreman will also occasionally visit construction sites at various stages of completion. At these sites, the individual may encounter environmental hazards, such as uneven dirt paths, loose gravel, or hard concrete floors. The use of protective equipment, such as headwear, ear protection, eye protection, and safety footwear, is typically required when on-site. The individual should be adaptable to varying environmental conditions and comfortable working in both office and construction settings.
