Staffworks is recruiting for an experienced Custodian to work in the Marcy NY area. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring the building id properly cleaned daily.
Qualifications
Prior experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred
High School diploma or GED
Thorough knowledge of machines and cleaning chemicals used
Independent worker
Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to manipulate furniture, equipment and supplies
Ability to bend, stoop and twist
Ability to observe work in progress and inspect buildings to verify compliance with cleaning standards
Essential Job Functions
Perform floor stripping, waxing and buffing as scheduled
Clean offices, restrooms and hall daily as scheduled
Supervise and assist building custodians where appropriate
Instruct custodian I on proper usage of cleaning chemicals and machinery where appropriate
Maintain and order supplies as needed
Dress in a neat and clean manner
Secure building at the end of the workday
Report all damages to building to immediate supervisor
Attend all appropriate training and in-services offered
Coordinate and schedule inspections, etc. of building and cleaning procedures
Schedule:
3:00pm – 10:00pm Monday-Friday
Wage:
$16.00 per hour
