POSITION OVERVIEW

This role bridges concept and execution, leading multidisciplinary campaigns, guiding a team of versatile creators, and shaping the voice, look, and feel of the brands we serve.

We’re seeking a creator who thrives in a fast-paced boutique agency environment, communicates with clarity, leads with empathy, and elevates the work and the team. As a key director at PATHOS, you will shape brand narratives, spark bold ideas, and inspire a culture of meaningful, boundary-pushing work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Vision & Execution

• Lead the concepting and execution of compelling, strategically grounded creative work across platforms (digital, print, video, experiential, etc)
• Ensure all creative deliverables align with client objectives, audience needs, and brand voice
• Provide the storytelling, tone, and messaging strategy for both internal and external campaigns
• Direct and contribute to writing for key campaigns—taglines, scripts, narratives, and brand language

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Build, manage, mentor, and inspire a team of multidisciplinary creatives to do their best work
• Cultivate a collaborative, curious, and accountable team culture rooted in feedback, learning, and growth
• Identify skills gaps and growth opportunities; champion development through trainings and one-on-one coaching
• Provide clear, constructive feedback throughout the creative process, from brief to final delivery

Client & Cross-Team Collaboration

• Serve as a strategic and creative lead in client presentations and business development efforts
• Collaborate closely with the Strategy, Digital, and Media teams to ensure seamless integration of creative across the customer journey
• Translate insights and discovery findings into creative direction and campaign frameworks

Operations & Innovation

• Help build scalable systems and workflows that support creative excellence and project efficiency
• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies—including AI—into creative development processes
• Manage freelance partners and vendors when needed to augment team capacity or specialty skills
• Participate in agency planning, revenue forecasting, and team resourcing in collaboration with the CEO
• And other duties to be assigned as the role, agency, and market continue to evolve

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills & Attributes

• Exceptional creative judgment and conceptual thinking.
• Strong writing background—both creative and business-focused.
• Skilled in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing feedback cycles with diplomacy and clarity.
• Adept at presenting to clients and selling through creative ideas.
• High emotional intelligence, strong interpersonal skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Comfort with fast-paced, high-volume agency life—and the flexibility to shift gears when needed.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, communications, journalism, design, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in a creative role within an agency or in-house setting.
• 3–5 years of experience in a senior or leadership creative role.
• A portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking, cross-platform creativity, and results-driven work.
• Experience working in brand development, campaign ideation, and content creation across formats.
