Job Description

GovStaff is seeking a Senior level Construction Quality Control Inspector with a minimum Secret Security Clearance to support critical engineering projects in Laurel, MD. The focus of this key position is to lead the implementation of an effective quality control (QC) program and use these provisions daily to control the quality of selected civil construction/engineering projects for the firm.

The selected Quality Control (QC) Inspector will ensure the implementation of an effective Construction Quality Control program to assist the JJRTC Facility Engineering Branch in accomplishing its missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Review the deliverables and submittals for contract conformance
  • Perform daily inspections to verify all work is in strict compliance with the contract and request correction of any deficiencies.
  • Develop a construction QA plan for each project, including inspection, testing, and reporting procedures, as well as plans for monitoring corrective actions taken by contractors.
  • Prepare daily written QA reports, recording all discussions with contractor QC – including deficiencies. QA reports should be completed and submitted within 48 hours.
  • Participate in the pre-construction meetings for each construction work item required by the QA plan.
  • Monitor QC inspection and testing activities performed by the contractor. This may include working some nights and weekends as the project schedule dictates.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must have at least a DOD Secret Clearance or above
  • Must have the ability to successfully clear a government background investigation
  • Four-year degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of quality control work experience on commercial or Government construction projects.
  • DoD Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction industry experience
