Primary Responsibilities

WCG is seeking a Civil EIT or PE to work in the Boise Metropolitan Area. This is an in-person position that will require regular attendance at the downtown Boise office with flexibility to accommodate work from home as projects allow. Candidate shall demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to develop site grading plans, perform open channel hydraulic calculations, develop hydrologic and hydraulic models, and draft technical reports. This role will also include designing infrastructure within AutoCAD Civil 3D.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or another related engineering field
  • Engineer Intern (EIT) Certification
  • 1-5 years of experience in water resources and/or civil engineering projects.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team
  • Interested in working on projects across the western United States
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Autodesk Civil 3D

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineers (PE) Certification
  • Ability to solve complex problems using professional engineering judgment
  • Specialized experience in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, FEMA letters of map change (LOMC) development, hydraulic structure design, stormwater management and treatment, and stream restoration with an interest in being involved in other civil and water resource projects
  • Proficient in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and software such as HEC-RAS, HEC–GeoRAS, MDSWMM, and HEC-HMS
  • Experience working with agency personnel including FEMA, US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), and/or Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
  • ESRI ArcGIS experience or training
