About the Role

BEE is looking to add a Building Envelope Consultant / Project Manager to our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building envelope design, building assessments, and construction administration. This role will include day-to-day coordination with the project team, including other AEC disciplines, property developers, and the construction team.

You will have experience with start-to-finish envelope consultation, from business development, SD, DD, CD design services, through to construction administration and project close out. As an envelope consultant at BEE Engineers, you will primarily work on new construction projects, with existing building projects comprising a portion of your workload. This position may require occasional onsite work and brief periods of travel. Our Project Managers typically spend anywhere from 5%-20% of their time in the field. This position is full-time and is based in BEE’s Edmonds office.

Responsibilities

  • Project and Client Management
  • Consult with Owners, Architects, and Engineers
  • Lead and support schedules and deliverables for team members
  • Produce detail sets and material specifications for building envelope design
  • Provide design support and on-site consultation during construction administration

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in building envelope design
  • BS Degree in Engineering, P.E. license preferred
  • Strong knowledge of local building and energy codes, RCW 64.55, and building envelope products/systems
  • Good technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members in multiple departments
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must be physically capable of performing essential job functions including:

  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license for regular travel to work sites
  • Ability to safely climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday, frequently in outdoor conditions and various weather environments
  • Safely navigate and work on steep-pitched roofs and uneven surfaces
  • Lift, carry, and maneuver materials and equipment required for building inspections and assessments
  • Perform repeated climbing, bending, and reaching movements
  • Work comfortably at various heights and elevated positions
  • Maintain balance and coordination while performing inspection tasks in elevated locations

The salary range for this position is $100,000- $160,000 depending on experience
