Job Description

TSS is partnering with a growing law firm to hire a full-time, onsite Bookkeeper for a permanent position in the financial district in NYC, NY. This role reports to the Director of Operations and will play a critical role in managing the daily financial operations of the firm, with a strong focus on accounts payable/receivable, legal billing, payroll, and trust accounting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Track and manage AP/AR. Contact clients regularly about AR and Billing. Prepare monthly billing through Centerbase legal billing software. Process payroll and reconcile each payroll period to the general ledger. Maintain cash receipts, disbursement journals, and the general ledger. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts, including IOLA (trust) accounts. Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports for various funding sources. Support management in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasting. Maintain and update annual cash flow tracking sheets in Excel. QUALIFICATIONS ~2+ years of law firm bookkeeping experience required. ~ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Accounting degree preferred). ~ Excellent MS Excel & Word skills ~ Strong working knowledge of trust accounting (IOLTA) and legal billing. ~ Experience using Centerbase or similar accounting software (Required). ~ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The salary range is $75,000 - $100,000 DOE.
