Job Title: Benefits Specialist (Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid after training - 2 days on site)

Job Description:

The Benefits Specialist will be the primary point of contact for all employee benefits inquiries and administration. This individual will manage day-to-day benefits operations, support compliance efforts, and assist with employee onboarding, wellness initiatives, and leave management programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the go-to resource for employee questions regarding health, dental, vision, disability, and leave policies
  • Oversee the full leave process, including FMLA, ADA, and short/long-term disability cases
  • Partner with leadership on benefits strategies, including coordinating with external vendors and brokers
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and assist with benefits enrollment changes
  • Lead and organize annual Open Enrollment, wellness programs, and related initiatives
  • Provide orientation support and ensure new hires understand available benefits
  • Stay informed on benefits laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Collaborate with the HR team on general administrative support, employee relations, and training efforts

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR/benefits administration experience, including leave management
  • Working knowledge of employment-related compliance (FMLA, ADA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Proficiency in HR systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal training
