Job Title: Assistant Superintendent – Commercial New Construction

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to support the execution of new commercial construction projects in the Irvine, CA area. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in construction field operations, who are ready to take on greater responsibility under the direction of a Superintendent. You’ll play a key role in maintaining safety, schedule, quality control, and subcontractor coordination on active construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Superintendent in managing all on-site construction activities for ground-up and shell commercial projects (office, retail, industrial, etc.)
• Coordinate and communicate daily with subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Monitor job site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Track and report project progress, site conditions, and any field issues to the project management team.
• Help maintain construction schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials and inspections.
• Conduct and document quality control inspections and enforce specifications and design requirements.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining site logistics plans, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
• Attend daily/weekly meetings with field teams and subcontractors.
• Support in resolving field conflicts and proactively identifying risks or delays.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in a commercial construction Assistant Superintendent role (ground-up/new construction experience preferred).
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, site safety protocols, and field documentation.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing site conditions.
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, primarily field-based role.
• Project sites located throughout the Irvine and greater Orange County area.
• Some weekend or evening hours may be required based on project needs.
