Job Description

We are hiring an Assistant Construction Superintendent to join a growing commercial general contractor working on ground-up construction projects across the Southeast and beyond. This role is ideal for candidates who are motivated to grow into a leadership position while gaining hands-on field management experience.

Our projects include big-box retail, light industrial, office, and medical facilities , and we are looking for driven professionals who thrive in fast-paced, traveling environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day on-site construction management .
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries .
• Ensure job site safety compliance (OSHA standards) .
• Maintain daily logs, project reports, and photo documentation .
• Conduct quality control inspections to verify work meets plans and specifications.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings, walkthroughs, and coordination sessions .
• Step in to lead field operations when the Superintendent is unavailable.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction field experience (assistant superintendent, foreman, field engineer, or similar).
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications .
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Basic computer knowledge; Procore, ProjectSight, PlanGrid experience a plus.
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites .

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (preferred).
• Background in commercial construction, retail construction, or ground-up projects strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 depending on experience.

Work Conditions

• Travel required across multiple states (100% on-site).
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
