Job Description

Position: Structural Modification Technician

Location: Lakehurst, NJ - Joint Base McGuire

Length: 12mo contract-to-hire

Rate: $41.91/hr + Sick Time

(Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education)

Required Skills

  • Must obtain a Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain one
  • 3+ years of large aircraft maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of large aircraft operations, environment and support, including structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and propulsion systems operations
  • Experience having the ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes of large aircrafts

Day-to-Day:

Our client is looking for an experienced C-17 Structural/Mechanical Repair/Modifications Technician contractor in direct support of C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program. They must obtain a Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain one. Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Works under general direction. Upon hire, employee will attend 3-5 weeks of on the job training. Must be able to obtain a Confined Space Certification (provided by Boeing) and a passport (Boeing will pay for passport).
